John Caldwell – Australian Anti-Bullying Advocate, Retailworld Resourcing CEO, and bestselling author of “Full Throttle” – has been named Victoria's Australian of the Year for 2014 .
A victim of bullying at home, school, and the workplace, John is a passionate anti-bullying advocate fully committed to his role as Ambassador for Angels Goal - Australia's Anti-Bullying Organisation.
John says - “I am thrilled and honoured to be named Victoria's Australian of the Year. I sincerely hope that I can use this to help stamp out bullying in our community. I love working with schools across Australia to help them better deal with the bullying epidemic to providing online support for kids and young Australians, and their friends and families.  Angels Goal’s website is a portal to fight the fight against bullying.

Currently, Australia is ranked number one for bullying on social networks, with 1 in 4 children bullied online, as well as leading the world in youth suicides.
With 10 to 20 young people a day attempting suicide and with children as young as 8 taking their lives more needs to be done.  The cost of bullying to the economy is around $15 billion per year. This is an epidemic!”  concludes John.
The prestigious Australian of the Year award for Victoria was announced this evening Thursday 31st October in Melbourne.  The award  celebrates the achievement and contributions of eminent Australians, an honour that John never would have expected 20 years ago.
After being born into a cycle of violence and alcohol, abused by foster parents and the victim of relentless bullying, John dropped out of school at 15 with no qualifications but remained positive, ambitious, and determined to make something of himself.
John has achieved great success, especially considering where he came from. Most children in that situation are not so lucky - kids who are bullied are 3 times more likely to show depressive symptoms and up to 9 times more likely to have suicidal thoughts.
Starting as a pizza maker to training manager to owning two fast food franchises and being globally recognised as a Top Franchisee, John is now the CEO and Founder of  the RWR Group with three brands and 16 offices across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, RWR Group is one of the fastest growing niche agencies in the world.
